Peatix Stories is a publication about Japanese culture, events, and the people behind them, in Japan and in the communities that carry it everywhere else.

We publish three things. A monthly guide to events in Japan: sake festivals, craft workshops, temple nights, and experiences most travelers never find. Travel tips for visiting Japan, written for people who want to go deeper than the guidebook. And community stories from New York and beyond, about the people keeping Japanese culture alive far from home.

If you are planning a trip to Japan, or just want to understand it better, start here.

What you will find on Peatix Stories

Events in Japan for international visitors. Every month we publish a curated guide to events happening across Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond. These are real events with real prices and direct booking links. We focus on experiences that are open to English speakers, whether that means the event runs in English or includes English materials.

Japan travel tips from people who know the country. Getting around Japan, paying for things, making restaurant reservations, understanding what to expect at a traditional event. We cover the practical details that guidebooks skip and that travel blogs get wrong.

Community stories about Japanese culture beyond Japan. The sake brewers, martial arts teachers, festival organizers, and cultural spaces keeping Japanese traditions alive in New York and around the world.
